The Maintenance Reliability Engineer ensures that equipment, systems, and processes are designed, maintained, and operated in a way that maximizes reliability, safety and efficiency. Their primary focus is to eliminate failures and serve as a key member of the maintenance department. The Maintenance Department's purpose is to Deliver Great Performance by driving a consistent high level of operational excellence, volume achievement and cost control.

  • Ensures a safety culture where no one gets hurt and that all accidents can be prevented.
  • Reviews loss data regularly, identifying relevant systems to address the losses, then actions upon gaps
  • Coordinates with Production, Maintenance, and Engineering to understand challenges and drive resolution through improvement to processes, work orders, training, and equipment design
  • Communicates with Shift Supervisors and manager KPIs and upcoming process improvements or changes
  • Owns the Breakdown Analysis (BDA) system to identify root causes of problems. This includes monitoring the health of the system, training and coaching technicians on the proper use, and executing on high priority BDAs.
  • Owns advanced reliability tools, such as Failure Mode Effect Analysis (FMEA), Predictive Maintenance, etc.
  • Administrator and Subject matter expert for the CMMS system
  • Works with Engineering to develop and assist in proper training for skills and on new equipment and/or procedures.
  • Ensures critical spares are identified and in inventory
  • Reports on project work, PM completion and Work Order completion in full and on time.
  • Schedules and conducts inspections and audits as required.
  • Partner with any outside vendors or contractors as necessary.
  • Evaluates, works with maintenance peers, and gets alignment around improving effectiveness of maintenance processes.
  • Holds our employees accountable for the quality of their work; coach and provide performance feedback to employees as necessary.
  • Works with supervisors on maintenance processes to make them sustainable, easily followed and properly documented.
  • Assesses, identifies, and implements training needs of technicians, team leads, and participates in development of training programs when required.
  • Identifies opportunities to optimize maintenance costs
  • Helps with recruiting, coaching, assessing, and training crew members (labor) within the department
  • Other duties as assigned by manager
