Reporting to the Director of Environmental, Health and Safety the Housekeeper performs a variety of housekeeping and cleaning service functions in maintaining clean and sanitary conditions of all service areas, facilities, and patient rooms.
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma/GED or equivalent work experience.
  • Must have a good understanding of the English language.
  • Three or more years of experience in some cleaning capacity, preferably Housekeeping.
  • Provide excellent customer service and maintain a professional demeanor.
  • Previous experience in hospitality or hospital/medical industry, preferably Housekeeping.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Clean and disinfect patient rooms according to terminal cleaning checklist.
  • Use correct cleaning chemicals for designated surfaces per Gulfside Healthcare Services requirements, OSHA and EPA regulations.
  • Proper use of personal protective equipment and must be able to wear a N95 respirator.
  • Provide cleaning for all areas of the facility for a safe and healthy environment.
  • Dusting all surfaces, including furniture, baseboards, lamps, tabletops, sofas and curtains; Scrubbing and mopping floors using approved cleaning solutions.
  • Physically remove trash in all areas of the building and dispose in dumpster.
  • Restocking items in the facility such as toilet paper, tissues, paper towels, etc.
  • Complete Daily Safety/Sanitary Checklist and other forms for compliance.
  • Transport cart with cleaning supplies and equipment to assigned areas and position securely.
  • Update status of patient rooms cleaned via electronic forms and assignment sheet.
  • Maintain stock levels of cleaning and building supplies and ordering more as needed.
  • Return and restock cart at end of shift.
  • Report any safety hazards, damages or maintenance problems to the Supervisor.
  • Performs other tasks as assigned by the Supervisor.
