Description
The Sourcing Engineer will use strong analytical and negotiation skills to help identify, evaluate, and manage suppliers. This role will focus on driving cost savings, mitigating supply chain risks, and supporting product development and production teams with reliable and competitive sourcing strategies.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Identify, evaluate, and qualify suppliers for components, raw materials, and finished goods
  • Negotiate pricing, terms (lead-time, quality, etc), and contracts with vendors to optimize cost and value
  • Collaborate with engineering, quality, and operations teams to ensure suppliers meet technical and performance standards
  • Analyze supplier capabilities, lead times, and risk factors; maintain approved supplier lists
  • Conduct cost analysis and develop cost-saving initiatives across sourcing categories
  • Support new product development (NPD) by sourcing components early in the design process
  • Maintain detailed records of supplier interactions, contracts, and performance metrics
  • Stay up to date on market trends, materials pricing, and global sourcing best practices
  • Ensure compliance with internal quality standards and relevant regulations
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge
  • Contribute to departmental efforts by accomplishing related tasks as needed, and other tasks as assigned
Requirements
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related technical field
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in sourcing, procurement, or supply chain-preferably in a electronics manufacturing environment
  • Proven experience negotiating contracts and managing supplier relationships
  • Knowledge of cost modeling and total cost of ownership (TCO) analysis
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and specifications
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Familiarity with ERP systems (ideally Infor) and procurement tools
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials
  • Ability to travel domestically or internationally as needed
  • Experience in international sourcing (strongly preferred)
  • Certification in supply chain or procurement (e.g., CPSM, CSCP, APICS)
