As we continue to grow, we’re seeking a Dirt Superintendent with a strong background in excavation, grading, and site preparation for underground utility projects.
Position Summary
The Dirt Superintendent will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of earthwork and dirt operations related to underground utility installations. This includes trenching, backfill, grading, and coordinating with pipe crews to ensure smooth workflow. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who understands the demands of underground construction and has a proven ability to manage crews, equipment, and schedules efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise dirt crews on underground utility projects (sewer, water, storm drain).
- Manage daily operations including trenching, grading, backfill, and compaction.
- Ensure production goals are met while maintaining safety and quality standards.
- Coordinate equipment use and maintenance planning with mechanics and other crews.
- Communicate clearly and consistently with project managers, foremen, and subcontractors.
- Read and interpret plans, grades, and job specifications to guide field operations.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe jobsite.
- Support and reinforce a team-first, safety-oriented culture.
