Akkodis is is seeking a Base/Vehicle Integration Engineer with 3+ years’ automotive experience, skilled in CATIA V5/V6, PLM, and DFMEA/PFMEA/DVP&R, to lead base vehicle architecture and system integration across powertrain, chassis, electrical, and HVAC.


Job Title: Base Engineer/ Vehicle Integration Engineer

Location: Auburn Hills MI

Duration: 18+ Months

Rate: $35-$40/hr. on W2 (The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.)


Responsibilities:

  • Lead base vehicle architecture development for assigned platforms, including integration of powertrain, chassis, electrical, HVAC, and other systems.
  • Collaborate with Vehicle Integration, Packaging, and Architecture teams to ensure compliance with program targets and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and maintain 3D/2D CAD data using CATIA V5/V6 and manage engineering changes through PLM tools.
  • Perform DFMEA, PFMEA, DVP&R activities to ensure design robustness and product quality.
  • Coordinate with component and system owners to resolve fit, function, and performance issues.
  • Support prototype builds, conduct package reviews, and validate system integration in virtual and physical environments.
  • Participate in design reviews and provide technical guidance for issue resolution.
  • Ensure compatibility of new designs with existing manufacturing and assembly processes.
  • Track program deliverables, report status, and manage risks and countermeasures.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in vehicle integration, architecture engineering, or base engineering in the automotive industry.
  • Proficiency in CATIA V5/V6 and PLM systems.
  • Experience with DFMEA, PFMEA, and DVP&R processes.
  • Strong understanding of automotive systems and vehicle packaging principles.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and project management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and manage multiple priorities.
