This is a direct-hire leadership role with long-term stability, community impact, and the opportunity to oversee a wide-ranging and complex portfolio totaling 1.6 million square feet.

This role is perfect for a senior facilities leader who has successfully overseen multiple locations within a single organization—such as a university campus, healthcare system, or corporate enterprise—and thrives in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive facility management and grounds maintenance strategy across all buildings and properties Tribal-wide (Hollywood, Big Cypress, Immokalee, Tampa, Brighton, Lakeland, Fort Pierce).
  • Lead a large, multi-disciplinary team of facilities professionals and oversee all vendor relationships, contracts, and performance metrics.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between the Facilities Department and other Tribal entities, promoting a culture of professionalism, responsiveness, and high-quality service.
  • Establish and maintain standards for building systems, repairs, upgrades, and grounds maintenance, ensuring safety, compliance, and long-term asset preservation.
  • Oversee the administration of large-scale facilities projects, vendor negotiations, capital planning, and emergency response initiatives.

Ideal Candidate Background:

  • Proven success managing multiple facilities across a large campus or network—backgrounds in higher education (e.g., FIU), healthcare systems (e.g., Memorial, Tenet), or government/tribal environments are highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of building systems, engineering principles, and modern facilities technologies.
  • Comfortable working in the field and traveling regularly to multiple locations.
  • Flexible and reliable—able to respond to emergencies or critical needs outside of typical business hours.
  • Demonstrated success in leading teams, managing budgets, and navigating complex stakeholder relationships.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Business, Facilities Management, Construction, Engineering, or related field.
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in facility, construction, or property management, including at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Certifications preferred: CFM, BOC, or FMP.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and facilities management systems.
  • Valid Driver’s License required.
  • Must be willing and able to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and serve as a critical employee during emergencies (i.e., hurricane response operations).
