Job Title: Software Database Engineer 2 Location Redmond WA 98052 Overview
Join us in building a transformative research knowledge reasoning platform powered by cutting-edge reasoning techniques and large language models (LLMs). Our agile and independent team is revolutionizing and democratizing data analysis by turning complex, time-consuming text reasoning tasks into efficient, transparent, and trustable processes. You will help design and deliver the next generation platform that: Represents and executes transparent research reasoning processes by defining reasoning operations, runtimes, Client data structures, and high-level reasoning programs. Fine-tunes LLMs on these reasoning programs to create advanced planning agents. Builds and deploys large-scale indexes using NoSQL, graph, and ML vector databases to store and track both human-authored and LLM-generated research insights. Develops Client UIs combining chat-based agents with interactive data interfaces integrated into Microsoft Graph, Copilot, Teams, Office apps, Figma, and engineering tools. This work will transform how organizations across industries conduct research, validate knowledge, and make data-driven decisions. Key Responsibilities
Collaborate with PMs, researchers, architects, and technical leads to understand and refine AI system requirements and research reasoning capabilities. Incorporate customer feedback into design iterations and technical solutions. Develop, optimize, and review code for extensibility, maintainability, and adherence to best practices. Integrate telemetry systems to monitor AI performance, reliability, and behavior. Leverage performance data to improve engineering decisions and product quality. Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline. 2+ years of technical engineering experience with coding in languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python. Experience with large-scale systems development and support, ideally in Azure and .NET environments. 1+ years of experience building and deploying at least one of the following: LLM application development Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) systems Preferred Qualifications
Expertise in designing and implementing LLM evaluation frameworks (LLM Evals). Hands-on experience with graph databases and NoSQL solutions. Proven ability to deploy, manage, and scale infrastructure on Microsoft Azure. Strong track record of cross-disciplinary collaboration.
