We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Staff Software Engineer to serve as the Technical Lead for AI platform development and architecture. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software engineering, with a focus on architecture and system design. This position requires a deep understanding of modern software development practices, a passion for innovation, and the ability to collaborate with a team of talented engineers. Responsibilities: Design and implement scalable, secure, and high-performance architectures for digital platforms. Ensure architectural decisions align with business goals and technical standards. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate architecture into the product roadmap. Stay current with the latest technologies and industry trends in software engineering and architecture. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineers. Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to standards and best practices. Work with product managers and stakeholders to ensure quality and timely delivery. Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues. Propose and innovate new solutions to enhance platform capabilities. Drive adoption of new technologies and methodologies. Utilize Agile frameworks, specifically with MVP and iterative approaches. Promote collaboration, predictability, transparency, experimentation, and innovation within the team. Champion processes and best practices related to ideation, delivery, and customer engagement. Maintain a lifelong learning mentality, staying updated with best practices and technologies. Exercise good judgment when facing risks, blockers, or tradeoffs.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 7 years of related work experience. Proven experience in software engineering with a focus on architecture. Experience leading technical teams. Experience designing and developing strategic products/platforms, managing software/data lifecycles, and resolving impactful issues. Proficiency in modern programming languages (e.g., Java, Go, Python, JavaScript). Strong understanding of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP). Experience with AI and MLE platforms (e.g., MCP, A2A). Experience with containerization and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes). Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools. Experience with SCRUM/Lean Agile frameworks and MVP/iterative approaches. Strong influencing, decision-making, and conflict resolution skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Positive partnership demeanor and ability to work cross-functionally. Detail-oriented, organized, and capable of managing multiple priorities. Ability to thrive in a dynamic, collaborative, and fast-paced environment. Model inclusive behaviors and align with Disneys cultural attributes. Passion for Disneys mission and values.
Education: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
The salary range in Seattle is $159,500 - $213,900, and in California is $152,200 - $204,100 per year. Actual offers will consider internal equity, geographic region, skills, and experience.
