Job Description And Duties
Under direction of the Facility Captain, the Correctional Lieutenant will be in charge of the custodial operations and is responsible for maintaining order and discipline in accordance with established procedures throughout the facility; (i.e., housing units, dining halls, work areas, exercise yards, etc.). The Correctional Lieutenant will train and evaluate Sergeants and Correctional Officers in custodial procedures and practices, assisting them in all areas that enable them to become more efficient in their assigned duties. The Correctional Lieutenant will ensure that custodial functions are being performed in accordance with institutional procedures; will monitor, audit and adjudicate disciplinary reports; monitor incarcerated persons activities, program functions, incarcerated persons living conditions, ensure Daily Activity Schedule is adhered to, and ensure that institutional rules and regulations are being enforced
This is a 12 month Limited Term position that may be extended to 24 months, with the possibility of becoming permanent.
