Senior Risk & Patient Safety Consultant
What you will be doing: Premier Insurance provides management services to American Excess Insurance Exchange, RRG (AEIX), an excess professional liability reciprocal risk retention group, and operates as an insurance brokerage providing products and services to healthcare entities and providers nationwide. The purpose of this position is to expand the ability of Premier Insurance to develop risk management, patient safety, and quality improvement offerings for AEIX member organizations for them to improve patient care and reduce liability exposure. The position is dedicated to supporting the clinical quality, patient safety, and risk management programs of AEIX member organizations. With a primary focus on service, innovation, and client satisfaction, the Consultant must be able to assess the specific needs of assigned accounts and collaboratively develop effective offerings and services to address those needs. The Consultant will utilize a data-driven approach to proactively impact the operations of member organization by driving improvements in patient safety and quality improvement focused on decreasing risk exposures.
The Consultant also supports AEIX governance activities, by providing resources and reports to governance committees, and attending other governance and candidate marketing meetings. The Consultant will develop and provide educational seminars relating to existing and emerging risk management issues, conduct on-site risk assessments, and assist with the design and implementation of quality improvement projects for AEIX clients to enable the sharing of best practices in the provision of healthcare services. The Consultant is expected to participate in professional association activities to remain up to date on best-in-class industry developments and standards and to raise visibility and promote the services and capabilities of AEIX and Premier Insurance. % Provide ongoing clinical risk management services on behalf of AEIX members including, but not limited to: Develop content and procure speakers for educational programs to meet Premier Insurance and AEIX annual Performance goals
Manage annual AEIX Awards & Grants program for providing recognition of outstanding quality and safety programs, including staffing the governance subcommittee responsible for reviewing applications and determining winners
Manage content and speakers for the AEIX Awards & Grants program winners, when necessary, at the annual Premier Breakthroughs
Provide research and draft advisory opinions regarding questions posed by AEIX members, supporting expert responses with industry standards and publications
Develop visibility of AEIX and
Premier Insurance
in national quality or risk management associations (e.g., ASHRM, NPSF and/or AHRQ)
Assist, as needed, on AEIX or Premier quality or risk management projects

Premier's internal salary range for this role is $113,000 - $188,000. Final salary is dependent upon several market factors including, but not limited to, departmental budgets, internal equity, education, unique skills/experience, and geographic location.
