At CrossCountry Consulting, we’re looking for experienced accounting leaders—Controllers, Assistant Controllers, and senior managers—ready to apply their expertise in a dynamic consulting environment. As an Associate Director, you’ll lead transformational projects, develop junior team members, and directly collaboratewith clients to solve complex accounting and reporting challenges and participate in business development activities What you'll do
Lead Financial Close & Operational Accounting Projects Redesign and streamline monthly close processes Assist with cash-to-accrual conversions and the creation of supporting schedules Prepare and review reconciliations (intercompany, inventory, cash, prepaids) Guide implementation of cloud-based accounting systems (e.g., NetSuite, Workday, Oracle) Advise on Technical Accounting & Financial Reporting Support SEC filings, restatements, and 10-K/10-Q/8-K disclosures Drive revenue recognition (ASC 606), lease accounting (ASC 842), and other technical areas Guide internal control development, policy documentation, and audit readiness Mentor & Lead Teams Manage client engagements with a blend of hands-on delivery and oversight Coach and develop junior team members Build strong, trusted relationships with client accounting leaders and CFOs Drive Change & Help Clients Scale Guide clients through IPO readiness, carve-outs, and PE transactions Support integration of finance systems during M&A activity Liaise across Operations, Accounting, IT, FP&A, and operations to improve financial processes What you'll bring
10+ years of experience advising commercial companies or private equity-backed portfolio companies in In-house roles such as Controller, Assistant Controller, or Director of Accounting OR: Consulting experience in technical accounting or accounting transformation Prior experience in professional services (public accounting, advisory firm, or management consulting firm Proven track record as an influential change agent, championing, organizing, and successfully and efficiently implementing new ideas and initiatives Demonstrated experience successfully mentoring and leading a team What we offer
