Overview:
Strategic Technology Institute, Inc. (STi) is seeking a highly qualified
Senior Engineer Analyst – Electrical
to support an anticipated contract with
Commander Naval Surface Forces, U.S. Pacific Fleet (COMNAVSURFPAC) . This position supports the
Type Commander Material Inspection Team (TMIT)
at
Naval Base San Diego , focusing on shipboard electrical inspections and engineering readiness evaluations for Pacific Fleet surface ships.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct detailed material inspections of shipboard
electrical systems
during READ-E events and assist visits.
Evaluate power , distribution, cathodic protection, degaussing, 1MC, and IC systems for operational readiness and compliance.
Assess shipboard administrative programs such as
Tag Out , Degaussing Logs, and Cathodic Protection Logs.
Support shipboard teams in preparing for INSURV inspections by reviewing documentation, identifying deficiencies, and mentoring personnel.
Serve as a senior technical advisor for electrical inspections and contribute to post-visit final reports.
Embark U.S. Navy ships during underway periods and participate in system demonstrations and readiness assessments.
Minimum Qualifications:
Active
Secret security clearance
at the time of application.
High school diploma
or equivalent.
20+ years
of hands-on electrical experience aboard Navy surface ships.
Three (3) at-sea tours
in an electrical capacity.
Prior service as an
Electrical Officer (Electro)
or
LCPO
of a shipboard electrical division.
Qualified
Engineering Officer of the Watch (EOOW)
and
EPCC operator
on at least one platform.
Working knowledge of:
Shipboard electrical support systems (60Hz, 400Hz, IC systems, shore power, telltale panels)
Electrical administrative programs (Tag Out, Cathodic Protection, Degaussing)
Material Maintenance Management (3M)
and
Planned Maintenance System (PMS)
Surface Force Training and Readiness Manual (SFTRM)
– Chapter 6
Joint Fleet Maintenance Manual (JFMM)
– Volume 6, Chapter 5
INSURV inspection guides and deliverables
Physically able to
climb pilot ladders
and remain underway aboard ships for several days.
Proficient in
Microsoft Office Suite
(Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Qualifications:
25+ years
of Navy engineering experience.
Retired
LDO, CWO, or E8/E9 .
Past experience as an
INSURV Inspector
or with
ATG/TYCOM inspection staff .
Familiarity with the
Optimum Fleet Response Plan (OFRP) .
Strong written and oral communication skills.
