Job Summary Do you enjoy crafting and implementing innovative culinary solutions for customers? We are seeking an Executive Chef II at The George Washington University in Washington, DC. You will be a lead culinarian within our dining programs, spearheading menu development and preparation with creativity and precision. This role involves supervising budgeting and food costing, ensuring client and customer satisfaction, and fostering employee training and growth. With Chartwells' rapid growth, there is significant potential for advancement and making an immediate impact in our culinary landscape! Key Responsibilities Plan menus according to established guidelines, following standardized recipes, portioning, and presentation standards. Complete and apply daily production worksheets and waste logs. Supervise and mentor chefs, cooks, and team members on food preparation, safe handling, equipment operation, and sanitation. Ensure culinary standards, including recipe compliance and food quality, are met. Lead inventory management of food and supplies, maintaining compliance and ensuring availability. Enforce health and sanitation regulations and department procedures, ensuring passing audits. Forecast and manage food and labor costs, supervising financial results. Build strong client relationships to align programs with their objectives, enhancing satisfaction and retention. Perform other duties as needed to support dining operations. Qualifications A.S. degree or equivalent experience. Three+ years of progressive culinary or kitchen management experience. Experience in high-volume, hands-on foodservice operations.
