Job Summary
The Grocery Buyer serves as the primary purchaser for designated product categories within PWADC's grocery purchasing department. This role is responsible for maximizing sales and profitability by developing and executing category strategies informed by market trends, consumer behavior, and competitive analysis. The Grocery Buyer collaborates closely with suppliers, marketing, sales, and distribution teams to ensure optimal product assortment, competitive pricing, effective promotions, and high in-store merchandising standards.
Key Responsibilities:
•Source, negotiate, and purchase grocery products in assigned categories to meet quality, pricing, and availability goals.
•Manage inventory levels to minimize overstocks and shortages while optimizing warehouse storage space.
•Maintain high filling rates and maximize product dating to stores.
•Ensure 100% accuracy in invoicing.
•Review and process daily store credits for damages, quality issues, or returns to the warehouse.
•Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms to secure competitive advantages.
•Build and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure reliable supply and partnership growth.
