Job Description Summary
The Supplier Quality Engineering Supervisor leads a team of Supplier Quality Engineers (SQEs) responsible for improving supplier quality, supporting product realization, and executing both current production and new product introductions. The role involves tactical activities like containment, corrective actions, and MRB support, as well as strategic initiatives such as APQP deployment, PPAP readiness, and developing supplier capabilities.
The supervisor acts as a technical leader and mentor, fostering collaboration across Engineering, Operations, and Supply Chain to ensure suppliers meet AV’s quality and compliance standards. The role is key in driving continuous improvement, strengthening supplier relationships, and aligning supplier performance with the company's strategic goals in innovation, reliability, and operational excellence.
Position Responsibilities
Lead and develop a team of SQEs across various commodities.
Support daily production issues including containment, SCARs, and MRB involvement.
Respond promptly to supplier nonconformances and quality issues.
Support long-term supplier development, including APQP and PPAP for NPI.
Participate in product readiness and technical reviews to ensure alignment.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align quality activities.
Conduct supplier audits, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
Monitor and report on supplier performance metrics.
Participate in supplier selection and risk assessments.
Represent the supplier quality team in meetings and updates.
Ensure compliance with standards like AS9100, ISO 9001, ITAR.
Promote a culture of continuous improvement.
Other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or related STEM field.
At least 5 years of experience in supplier quality or manufacturing.
Minimum 2 years in a supervisory or team lead role.
Knowledge of industry standards and quality tools.
Experience with supplier quality management and audits.
Strong communication and negotiation skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities.
Willingness to travel domestically and internationally (up to 50%).
Additional Qualifications
Master’s degree preferred.
Certifications like CQE, CSQP, Six Sigma preferred.
Experience with aerospace manufacturing and regulations.
Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings and standards.
Physical Demands and Special Requirements
Work in office and manufacturing environments.
Must be a U.S. Citizen, Green Card holder, or have refugee/asylee status.
Travel within the U.S. may be required.
Salary Range $102,708 - $145,530
Salary depends on experience, education, and skills.
ITAR Requirement This position requires compliance with ITAR/EAR regulations. Applicants must qualify as a U.S. person or obtain export approval.
