Hirschler is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team. This full-time position, based in our Richmond office, is responsible for processing and recording payments for firm expenses and client cost advances. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Enter vouchers and generate checks to pay firm expenses and client cost advances; Record ACH payments, account debits, and outgoing wires from Hirschlers operating accounts; Initiate and record online ACH payments; Process expense reimbursements for firm employees, ensuring appropriate approvals have been obtained; Research past due invoices and accounts, and respond to inquiries from vendors, attorneys, or staff regarding accounts payable; Prepare spreadsheets to facilitate the breakdown of charges and payment of PACER and conference call invoices; Prepare monthly consumer use tax returns and process online payments; Compile vendor information for the preparation of year-end 1099 forms, generate reports showing 1099 payments, and work with the Controller to distribute 1099s to vendors; Process trust transactions as needed. Qualifications: Minimum of 5 years of related experience; Basic knowledge of accounting systems, specifically accounts payable; Experience working with various accounting systems, processing accounts payable and cash receipts, and working with the general ledger; Experience requiring a high level of responsibility for non-company funds; Experience working with Elite 3E or similar legal accounting system software is preferred; Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with demonstrated skills in Excel, Word, and Outlook; Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with individuals at all levels of Hirschler, as well as with vendors and clients; Organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills are required; Solid project management and organizational skills, including the ability to multitask and manage daily demands from various sources, with excellent attention to detail; Demonstrated commitment to client service.
