Position Summary:
Reporting to the Vice President of Communications, the Communications Coordinator plays a vital role within the Communications team at the National Association of REALTORS (NAR).
This position contributes to the execution of NAR's media relations efforts and helps maintain the association's reputation as a trusted voice in real estate. The coordinator will assist in the day-to-day activities of the Communications team, including writing and editing content, coordinating press outreach, and supporting messaging efforts that align with the organization's strategic priorities.

: Assist in implementing NAR's proactive media outreach strategies across national, regional, and local media platforms, including print, broadcast, and online. Draft and edit a variety of media materials, including press releases, media advisories, talking points, and internal briefing documents. Support the coordination and execution of media-related activities at NAR's major meetings and events, such as REALTORS Legislative Meetings and the NAR NXT Annual Conference. Monitor daily media coverage, maintain internal tracking systems, and assist with compiling media reports and metrics. Help maintain NAR's press room content and ensure timely updates to digital press materials. Provide administrative and logistical support for press calls, interviews, and special projects. Assist in maintaining relationships with reporters, editors, and other media professionals by coordinating responses, organizing media lists, and supporting press engagement efforts. Collaborate with local and state REALTOR associations to share resources, promote aligned messaging, and support joint communication initiatives. Stay informed about emerging media trends and assist with identifying new opportunities to expand NAR's media presence. Perform other duties as assigned by the Communications leadership team. Qualifications
: Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, journalism, marketing, or a related field. 1-3 years of relevant experience in media relations, communications, or public affairs (internships may be considered). Strong writing and editing skills, including experience drafting press materials and digital content. Familiarity with media monitoring tools and communications platforms (e.g., Meltwater, Cision, or similar). Ability to manage multiple projects with attention to detail and strong organizational skills. Collaborative team player who is responsive, proactive, and eager to learn. Experience supporting events or media coordination preferred. Knowledge of AP Style and basic understanding of the new media landscape. Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time Compensation: $60,000-$75,000 NAR provides comprehensive benefits including health/dental/vision insurance.
