Overview
Keenan has an exciting career opportunity for an Account Executive in our Employee Benefits division. They will be responsible for client retention, customer servicing, providing support, and assisting with growing the book of business and managing renewals in the territories of the Account Executives they support. Keenan, an Accretive company, is an insurance brokerage and consulting firm meeting the insurance needs of hospitals, public entities, and California school districts. Keenan specializes in providing consulting services in the areas of: employee benefits, workers' compensation, loss control, financial, and property & liability.
What You'll Do
Responsible for retention of business in assigned territory. Establish and maintain client relationships through regular visits and open communication. Use consultative techniques to manage accounts, suggest new services and products, and make recommendations based on analysis of customers' existing insurance packages, circumstances, and needs. Expand existing relationships by recommending additions or changes to current insurance programs to meet customers' evolving needs. Maintain thorough knowledge of regulatory and legislative changes affecting our customers. Gather, evaluate, and negotiate carrier renewals on assigned accounts' insurance programs. Advise and recommend products or programs based on customer needs. Manage marketing for insurance programs of assigned accounts, including data collection and marketing form completion, following BenefitPoint procedures. Develop and deliver customer presentations. Provide day-to-day client consulting on a wide range of benefit programs. Collaborate with the P&C counterpart in the territory to maximize client retention. Maintain comprehensive knowledge of accounts within the territory. Ensure timely, accurate, and efficient service to customers. Work with the service team to prepare communication materials and complete internal procedures for new case installations. Interface with clients and carriers to resolve billing, premium, and eligibility issues. Assist in creating medical Plan Documents, Summary Plan Descriptions (SPDs), and amendments. Coordinate proofing of master contracts and amendments. Prepare and present materials for Insurance Committee Meetings, Wellness meetings, and JPAs. Resolve routine and complex claim problems. Coordinate annual open enrollments, health fairs, and employee orientation meetings as needed. Communicate legislative changes to clients. Process renewals and premium invoices. Gather data for employee benefit studies, providing comparisons of benefits within counties and industries, and coverage information for potential clients. Prepare and produce scheduled reports timely. Maintain the Salesforce.com CRM system for assigned accounts. Attend required meetings and perform other duties as assigned. What You'll Need
Minimum three (3) years of experience in employee benefits. Self-starter with attention to detail and excellent communication skills. Life and Disability license required. Ability to build relationships with clients and senior management. Negotiating skills and mathematical ability. Basic underwriting skills and understanding of funding methodologies. Knowledge of management and decision-making processes for California Public Agencies. Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word. Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Salesforce and BenefitBridge preferred. Adept at accessing business data online. What's in it For You?
