Position Summary: Senior Electrical Engineer The Senior Electrical Engineer will support the Lead Project Engineer or Project Manager and work across a broad portfolio of projects, from modest scopes to large-scale developments. This role demands a technically skilled individual with strong leadership abilities, a proactive mindset, and a team-oriented attitude. The successful candidate will represent the firm in project interactions and may independently manage small to mid-sized projects. Key Responsibilities Perform electrical design using current engineering software tools. Execute voltage drop, short-circuit, breaker coordination, and Arc Flash studies. Determine overcurrent protection and feeder sizing for electrical equipment. Specify equipment using manufacturer documentation (e.g., UPS, switchboards, panels). Design emergency power supply systems (EPSS) per NEC Articles 700–702. Use compliance software (e.g., EnergyPro, COMCheck) for Title 24 and energy code adherence. Create electrical room layouts. Contribute to mission-critical/data center projects with specialized knowledge. Design for commercial, life sciences, healthcare (OSHPD), and other sectors. Design and specify medium voltage (MV) systems and, to some extent, high voltage (HV) systems. Coordinate with utility companies and design main service entrances. Present concepts and updates to clients as required. Develop project documentation, including start-up materials and coordination with internal teams. Set and manage project scopes, budgets, and schedules. Lead internal project kick-offs and interdisciplinary coordination. Implement quality assurance procedures throughout the design process. Review change orders, project budgets, and ROI/LCCA studies. Analyze and recommend technical design options. Maintain proactive communication with clients throughout and after project completion. Direct, mentor, and oversee project teams and junior engineers. Ensure all deliverables meet schedule, budget, and quality expectations. Conduct site visits and review construction progress. Lead design team meetings and participate in client meetings. Stay informed and compliant with applicable codes, standards, and LEED guidelines. Manage and respond to RFIs and submittals in a timely manner. Contribute to the development of internal design standards and best practices. Qualifications & Experience A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in electrical engineering design. Strong leadership and project oversight skills. In-depth knowledge of codes, engineering standards, and construction practices. Excellent written and verbal communication abilities. Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced setting. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, Revit, and relevant design/analysis software. Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (required). Professional Engineer (PE) license (preferred). LEED accreditation and familiarity with building management systems (preferred). Seniority level
