Position Summary: The Occupational Therapist (OT) will support Hamtramck Public Schools in meeting the diverse needs of students by promoting their independence and ability to participate in academic and school-related activities. The OT provides services to students with disabilities as identified through the IEP process and collaborates closely with teachers, staff, and families to ensure access to the curriculum in alignment with district and state standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: • Conduct occupational therapy evaluations and assessments in accordance with IDEA and Michigan Department of Education guidelines. • Participate as a member of the Multidisciplinary Evaluation Team (MET) and Individualized Education Program (IEP) Team. • Develop and implement individualized therapy goals that address students' fine motor, sensory, visual-motor, self-help, and functional needs. • Deliver direct and consultative services to students in a variety of settings, including general education classrooms, special education programs, and related service spaces. • Provide staff and parent training, resources, and support for implementing accommodations and strategies. • Maintain documentation of services, progress reports, and compliance with timelines and procedures. • Collaborate with building teams to support student access, engagement, and participation in school routines and environments. • Support the district's commitment to inclusive practices and culturally responsive education. Qualifications: • Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program. • Valid Michigan licensure and current certification from the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT). • School-based or pediatric experience preferred. • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills. • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team in a diverse, multilingual community.

Salary: Per the Hamtramck Federation of Teachers (HFT) Salary Schedule
