Salary Guide: $68,640 - $73,000
The candidate will serve as a System Administrator for TacMo/DPSS. The candidate will ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of systems, networks, and data through the planning, analysis, development, implementation, maintenance, and enhancement of information systems security programs, policies, procedures, and tools. This candidate will be expected to attend relevant training courses, workshops, and follow instructions from IT Operations Lead and Senior System Administrators.
Essential Job Functions:
Ensure implementation of IS security measures and procedures, including reporting incidents to the Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM) or Command Information Systems Security Manager (CISSM), Authorizing Official (AO), and appropriate reporting chains, and coordinating system-level responses to unauthorized disclosures.
Promote awareness of security issues among management and ensure sound security principles are reflected in organizational goals.
Develop and implement programs to ensure system, network, and data users are aware of, understand, and adhere to security policies and procedures.
Participate in network and systems design to ensure security policies are implemented appropriately.
Assess security events to determine impact and implement corrective actions.
Monitor system recovery processes to ensure security features are properly restored and functioning correctly.
Communicate and collaborate with IT Operations Lead and Senior System Administrators on mutual interests and impacts.
Assist in analyzing customer information systems for organizational risk.
Monitor information systems and user compliance with cybersecurity policies, and review monitoring results.
Ensure cybersecurity inspections, tests, and reviews are coordinated with affected parties.
Required Skills:
U.S. Citizenship due to sensitive customer requirements.
High school diploma/GED plus 10 years of experience, or Associate's degree plus 4 years, or a bachelors degree with 2 years of specialized experience.
Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance for the duration of employment.
Possess or be able to achieve DOD 8570 or equivalent certification, including Security+.
Professionalism, courtesy, high moral character, and integrity.
Excellent communication skills and ability to liaise with outside agencies and work independently.
Knowledge of IT principles, cybersecurity defense concepts, system architecture requirements, and configuration techniques.
Experience with Microsoft Windows Operating Systems and MSSQL 2014/2016/2017/2019.
Assist in the integration of multiple organizations and in designing new security techniques.
Experience with cybersecurity policies, security tools, and security controls such as NIST 800-53 or JSIG.
Experience with cybersecurity programs, vulnerability assessments, and security patches.
Desired Skills:
Experience designing servers, NAS, or network devices.
Utilization of Agile/Agile Kanban methodologies.
Stakeholder collaboration to define program needs and system access levels.
Supporting mission operations with DOD cyber operations knowledge.
Experience with RHEL or Red Hat OpenShift systems and processes.
