Job Title: Remote COBOL to .NET Developer
Duration: 1-year Contract
Location: 100% Remote
Job Description:

• Our client, a leading Ecommerce company, is seeking a skilled and experienced developer to join our team for a year-long contract. As we embark on a transformative COBOL to .NET Shipping project, we are looking for a talented individual to contribute to the success of our inventory applications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the development team to migrate COBOL-based systems to .NET, specifically focusing on shipping functionalities.
• Utilize your expertise in .NET Core, Web API, and JavaScript Frameworks (React, Angular, JQuery) to create efficient and scalable web-based applications.
• Work on ORM technologies such as EF Core and Dapper to ensure seamless integration and data management.
• Employ best practices in an environment that includes Visual Studio, MVC, Git, unit and integration testing, and a build server.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of proven methodologies to support the company's continued growth.
• Ensure code quality, maintainability, and adherence to coding standards throughout the development process.

Requirements:

• Proven experience in software development, with a focus on .NET technologies.
• Strong background in COBOL and experience in successfully migrating systems to .NET.
• Proficiency in Web API development and familiarity with JavaScript Frameworks (React, Angular, JQuery).
• Knowledge of ORM technologies such as EF Core and Dapper.
• Experience with version control systems, particularly Git.
• Familiarity with unit and integration testing practices.
• Previous exposure to Visual Studio, MVC, and build server environments.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills for effective teamwork in a remote setting.
