We are seeking a Mechanical Inspector to utilize proper equipment, tools, systems, quality specifications, and processes, to verify high reliability metal, composite, and additively manufactured parts are compliant with customer requirements. Work includes machine-aided (CMM), manual measurement, and visual inspection.

Job Responsibilities: Inspect one-of-a-kind machined and finished parts and hardware to drawings and workmanship standards using visual techniques, manual measurement tools, and semi-automated (CMM) equipment. Accurately record as-built information, nonconformance information, traceability requirements, labor hours, and other product attributes into computer databases. Collaborate with machinists, manufacturing, and project engineers in the disposition of nonconforming product identified during inspection. Provide assistance/back-up for other inspection areas, primarily the inspection of composites and additive manufacturing/fabrication. Perform process and housekeeping audits of working area and report findings to area supervision.

Basic Hiring Criteria:

Have a High School Diploma or equivalent 5+ years' experience in performing inspections of machined products. The majority of this time must have been in inspecting unique items versus a production-line or incoming material inspection. Have experience in running a coordinate measuring machine (CMM) with PC-DMIS software, demonstrated ability using measurement equipment: micrometers, calipers, hole and ring gages. Familiar with standard GD&T (geometric dimensioning & tolerancing) and drawing/blueprint reading. Ability to interpret both formal and informal assembly requirements and documentation. Able to function as part of a team. Have strong communication skills, Microsoft Office computer skills, and are competent at writing clear and concise summary reports. Must be customer focused, self-motivated, capable of multitasking, and following verbal and written instructions. Able to interpret both formal and informal assembly requirements and documentation.

Desired Qualifications:

Associate's degree or equivalent related to mechanical fabrication. Experience with CMM programming with PC-DMIS software. Advanced training in GD&T. 3 or more years of experience working on spaceflight mechanical parts.
