The Information Technology Specialist II, Cloud System Engineer is responsible for master level expertise in managing, supporting, and administering complex cloud enterprise services for the California Highway Patrol (CHP) working in the domains of System Engineering, Information Security, and IT Project Management. The Information Technology Specialist II serves as the expert lead to various teams within the Information Management Division (IMD) for the CalCrash system. The Information Technology Specialist II is responsible for system engineering, architecture, design, configuration, and administration of all aspects of centralized Cloud services for CalCrash. The Information Technology Specialist II will work with external and internal stakeholders and provide subject matter expertise on program management and technical, functional, and business processes.
This position requires a person who can independently provide guidance on and be responsible for the deployment, implementation, and support of VMware Cloud services and systems. The Information Technology Specialist II requires a master level of knowledge, skill, and ability as a system engineer and administrator in all aspects of centralized enterprise systems and applications in multiple Cloud server instances that provide the following services throughout the Department, which include but are not limited to: Microsoft Azure Cloud, the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Cloud hosting, VMware, Office 365 government Cloud services, public Cloud infrastructure, Cloud architecture, Identity Access Management, Multifactor Authentication, Active Directory services, and e-mail messaging services.
