Whitestone International is a fast-paced, rapidly growing startup that imports and dropships full-container-load products from overseas, selling directly to multi-billion dollar/Fortune 500 companies. Our unique model relies on manufacturing private label brands for leading janitorial, medical and food service distributors.
Role Description
The Import & Ocean Logistics Coordinator will be responsible for managing overseas purchasing, international logistics, and order processing operations. This position serves as a key liaison between our company and suppliers—primarily in Asia—ensuring accurate and timely fulfillment of purchase orders, high product quality, and smooth coordination with logistics. The role also includes directly booking ocean freight with carriers to optimize cost and transit time.
Key Responsibilities
• Interface daily with overseas factories to manage order status, lead times, and documentation.
• Review and process inbound customer purchase orders.
• Issue and manage purchase orders to international suppliers, primarily in Asia.
• Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and production timelines with suppliers.
• Coordinate sample requests and approvals.
• Manage product quality control processes, including booking inspections and reviewing reports.
• Work with logistics providers to arrange shipment of completed goods.
• Book ocean freight directly with carriers, in addition to working with freight forwarders when appropriate.
• Maintain clear and up-to-date records within ERP systems (NetSuite experience preferred).
Qualifications
• 3+ years of experience in import/export, purchasing, or order coordination.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills with international suppliers.
• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and follow-through skills.
• Bilingual in Mandarin and English is a major plus.
• Familiarity with quality control processes and international trade documents.
• Experience with NetSuite or similar ERP system is highly preferred.
