Line Cook in a Skilled Nursing Facility. Start Date: ASAP, we have a new employee orientation class starting soon Hourly Wage Estimate: $16.00/hour Shift: 3-4 Days per Week Schedule: 11:30am - 8:00pm Your role here extends far beyond your job description. A little more about our center: The Terrace is a classic nursing home with a heavy emphasis on the long-term memory care resident and a small, but growing, short-term rehab unit. What you will do in this role: Officially we title this job a Dietary Cook, but in other centers it may be called a Line Cook or even an entry level Chef. When you are sick or injured, food can be the highlight of your day. As a cook you will help prepare meals for our patients. This could involve menu creation, working with our Registered Dietician for special needs diets, kitchen sanitation and food safety. One day you may clean out the freezer or the next it may involve talking with the patients to see if they liked their meal. We wear many hats and do whatever is needed to meet the nutritional needs of the patient. Qualifications
Dietary Cook: Officially we title this job a Dietary Cook, but in other centers it may be called a Line Cook or even an entry level Chef. What we need from you: Must have prior experience as a dietary aide, cook, or in a central kitchen Knowledge of quality food production and servicing techniques, food safety/sanitation requirements and procedures.
