Are you a detail-oriented, numbers-driven professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment? Do you take pride in ensuring financial accuracy and timely payments? SERVPRO of Rocky Mount & Tarboro is seeking a proactive and experienced Accounting Specialist to join our growing team in a full-time, onsite role. In this key position, youll oversee accounts payable and receivable, maintain accurate financial records, and support the financial operations that drive our franchises growth. You'll work closely with the General Manager and report directly to the company owner, playing a vital role in ensuring the financial health of the business. As an Accounting Specialist, youll help ensure our financial systems run smoothly so we can continue restoring lives and businesses every day.
Key Responsibilities
Manage accounts payable and receivable processes with accuracy and efficiency Maintain up-to-date financial records in QuickBooks Reconcile customer accounts and resolve billing or payment discrepancies Communicate with clients regarding overdue invoices and payment plans Collaborate with internal teams to ensure accurate billing and strengthen internal controls Process bi-weekly payroll and maintain related documentation Prepare and analyze financial reports, including income statements, commission tracking, and cash flow statements Order equipment and maintain vendor records Assist with year-end closing procedures, reconciliations, adjustments, and audits Perform other accounting and administrative duties as assigned Help drive to day-to-day office operationsincluding but not limited to answering phones, customer relations, estimating, job file coordination, and assisting with various project management tasks for mitigation and reconstruction jobs as needed Work directly with the General Manager to support daily operations, while reporting to the Owner
Qualifications
GED (required)/Associates or Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred 3+ years of accounting experience, including accounts payable/receivable preferred Industry experience in construction, insurance, or service sectors preferred Proven experience organizing and formalizing collections processes Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) Proficient in QuickBooks and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel & Outlook) Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
