Job Title - Logistics Technician
Location - Torrance, CA 90501
Duration - 12 months
Shift - 1st Shift (6 am - 2:30 PM PST)
Note -
The candidate should be able to stand on their feet for long periods, be comfortable wearing steel toes, and must be able to lift/push up to 50 lbs. Forklift operation is not required but provided as backup; company also offers forklift certification. Experience driving a box truck is a bonus but not mandatory. Job Description - As a member of the Central Dispatch Team, you will perform various physical and transactional operations supporting production, repair, development, and non-production (MRO) requirements of the business. You will coordinate efforts, develop capabilities, complete training, communicate status, and lead change to improve team performance. Additionally, you will support initiatives and manage team performance through metrics and data to meet safety, quality, delivery, cost, and lean goals. As a Dispatcher (Logistics Tech), you will: Process material movement physically and systematically Receive and process inbound and outbound material Pull and put away material to respective staging locations Perform inventory reconciliation (2-Bins) Manage transactions for nonconforming material Prepare paperwork for outside processing Complete cycle counts and manage shelf-life for paint Expedite outside machining and processing to meet schedules Schedule courier pickups and deliveries for incoming and outgoing OSP Create work order splits for partial lots Monitor queues and clear aging work orders Investigate and resolve aging WIP and projects Ensure transaction compliance Direct activities of the production truck driver Assist in dispatch tasks as needed
Accountabilities: Support timely production schedules through material movement and coordination. Package and verify parts with correct paperwork. Provide direction to team and production driver regarding vendor or stockroom activities. Respond promptly to internal/external customer inquiries about specifications, material, delivery, and quantity. Participate in dispatch material and paperwork flow. Provide backup for dispatch roles.
