Akerman LLP, a top 100 U.S. law firm serving clients across the Americas, is seeking a Desktop Architect for its National Information Technology Department. The location for this position is flexible. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES : Design and maintain workstation images Maintain and troubleshoot Group Policy as it applies to application delivery and workstation management Maintain computer and user groups in Active Directory as they apply to application delivery Design automated installation processes for workstations using SCCM Familiarity with MSI installs, including creating MSTs and applying MSPs Troubleshoot application and desktop-related issues in coordination with other members of IT and users Develop and maintain installation and login scripts using PowerShell and VBScript Monitor and deploy OS and application updates using SCCM, WSUS and other mechanisms Keep up-to-date on builds, patches and security fixes available for workstation Operating System Recommend and implement ways of improving our desktop architecture EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: At least two years of experience in creating and maintaining images using SCCM, MDT and third party tools Extensive experience troubleshooting issues on Windows 10 desktops and laptops Experienced with Office 365 administration (particularly Teams) preferred. Legal or professional services experience highly desired KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Required: Complete management of SCCM, including assets, collections, endpoint software maintenance and monitoring, administrative tasks, and updates and servicing Using SCCM Task Sequences to customize, install, and deploy Windows 10 with appropriate drivers to multiple hardware models on Intel and virtualized platforms Using SCCM to create, manage, update, and deploy software packages, patches, and updates to Windows 10 physical and virtual endpoints in a distributed environment Active Directory for managing user and computer groups Managing settings for Windows 10, Office, and third-party applications using Group Policy Windows 10 Enterprise operating system features, troubleshooting, settings and installation Computer hardware configurations and their impacts on performance PowerShell proficiency Ability to shift priorities and manage change with a positive outcome Strong problem-solving skills, takes initiative and uses good judgment, excellent follow-up skills Preferred: SCCM Cloud Management Gateway, Intune Co-Management, Autopilot, and their use for managing features, settings, and configurations of Windows, Office, and third-party applications Experience working with Office 365 administration, particularly Teams We offer an excellent compensation and benefits package.
