Position Title: Indirect Tax Senior Analyst Department: Tax Role Position Reports to: Indirect Tax Manager Location: Rosemont, IL Position Description
(Brief summary) The Indirect Tax Senior Analyst is responsible for working with and reporting to the Indirect Tax Manager with company’s US and Canadian indirect tax function. This role leads the compliance process and supports audit defense. Key Position Responsibilities · Manage outsourced U.S. sales and use tax compliance to ensure timely and accurate filings. · Prepare and file sales and use tax returns as needed as well as the Canadian GST/QST/HST/PST tax returns. · Review sales tax returns and reconcile filings against sales data. · Maintain and review exemption certificates. · Monitor business activities, conduct nexus studies and prepare tax registrations. · Conduct taxability research. · Assist in audits, including gathering supporting documentation and preparation of responses. · Support sales and use tax process improvements. Requirements · Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; CPA certification (or in progress) preferred; Master’s degree in
Accounting/taxation
a plus. · 2-4 years of related corporate in-house tax and/or public accounting experience. · Related experience in US sales and use tax; general knowledge of VAT and Canadian GST/HST a plus. · Self-starter attitude that thrives in a high paced environment. · Strong organizational, time management, planning and prioritization skills. · Strong analytic skills. · Well-developed skills on Microsoft Office tools · Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate tax issues in a clear and concise manner. · Must have the ability to work independently, be flexible and a team player. Compensation Package: · $85,000 - $95,000 base salary plus bonus. · This is a salaried, exempt position.
