About the Role: The Team Lead for the Automotive Parts Department at Sanford Imports plays a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient operation and success of the parts division within the retail trade environment. This position is responsible for leading a team to deliver exceptional customer service, manage inventory effectively, and support sales growth by providing expert knowledge of automotive parts. The Team Lead will oversee daily department activities, coordinate with suppliers, and ensure compliance with company policies and industry standards. By fostering a collaborative and motivated team atmosphere, the role aims to enhance customer satisfaction and drive departmental profitability. Ultimately, the Team Lead acts as a key liaison between management, staff, and customers to maintain a high-performing and customer-focused parts department. Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or higher in business, automotive technology, or related field preferred. Minimum of 3 years experience in automotive parts sales or inventory management. Proven leadership experience managing a team in a retail or automotive environment. Strong knowledge of automotive parts, terminology, and industry standards. Proficiency with inventory management systems and point-of-sale software. Preferred Qualifications: Certification in automotive parts or service management (e.g., AAP, ASE certifications). Experience working in a retail trade environment with a focus on automotive products. Familiarity with supplier negotiation and vendor relationship management. Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite and ERP systems. Demonstrated ability to analyze sales data and implement process improvements. Responsibilities: Lead, train, and motivate the automotive parts team to achieve sales targets and deliver excellent customer service. Manage inventory levels, including ordering, receiving, and stocking automotive parts to ensure availability and minimize excess stock. Provide expert advice and support to customers and staff regarding automotive parts specifications, compatibility, and installation. Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, and resolve any supply chain issues. Monitor department performance metrics, prepare reports, and implement strategies to improve efficiency and profitability. Ensure compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and quality standards within the parts department. Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and returns professionally to maintain high customer satisfaction. Collaborate with other departments such as service and sales to support overall business objectives. Skills: The Team Lead will utilize strong leadership and communication skills daily to guide and develop their team, ensuring clear understanding of goals and expectations. Technical knowledge of automotive parts is essential for accurately advising customers and supporting staff in product selection and troubleshooting. Organizational skills are critical for managing inventory, coordinating orders, and maintaining stock levels to meet customer demand efficiently. Problem-solving abilities are frequently applied to resolve supply chain challenges, customer issues, and operational bottlenecks. Additionally, proficiency with inventory and sales software enables the Team Lead to track performance metrics, generate reports, and make data-driven decisions that enhance department productivity and customer satisfaction.
