Finance Director / VP of Finance
Description: Our entrepreneurial firm is seeking a Finance Director to support our expanding business unit focused on engineering 3D solutions for design, engineering, and construction projects globally. This division aims to drive financial growth and planning for software, hardware, and professional services.
Responsibilities
- Participate in and support all financial aspects of the division's strategy and long-range planning process.
- Ensure the integrity of the division's financial statements.
- Understand and communicate division financial results and trends to management and corporate finance, providing recommendations when results differ from plans.
- Conduct analyses and develop insights to improve decision-making within the division management team.
- Oversee revenue and deferred revenue recognition processes, ensuring compliance with US GAAP and internal policies (including ASC 606).
- Ensure ongoing compliance with SOX controls.
- Lead the division's global finance team by providing clear direction, delegating tasks, and fostering staff development.
- Develop monthly, quarterly forecasts, and annual budgets for submission to corporate finance.
- Ensure all purchasing and hiring decisions comply with company policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with sales teams to ensure business terms align with divisional and corporate goals and revenue recognition policies.
- Lead negotiations with customers, vendors, and partners as needed.
- Develop reports for division management to facilitate business operations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or accounting; CPA or MBA preferred.
- 4+ years of experience in a software business with $50M+ revenue, as a Division Controller, Director of Finance, or Finance VP.
- Strong communication skills across business functions.
- Proven presentation skills at the executive level.
- Strong leadership qualities.
- Knowledge of CRM and ERP systems and implementation.
- Extensive experience with reporting, consolidations (domestic and international), GAAP, and current accounting issues.
- Strategic thinker with analytical skills.
