Job Details
The MA Airside General Manager is responsible for implementing and adhering to MA Safety, Security, Quality, and Training policies and SOPs, as well as local, state, and Federal regulations, and overseeing all station operations and service delivery.
The role requires a seasoned senior manager with strong operational, business understanding, and leadership skills. The incumbent must have the ability to manage a business in a challenging environment while maintaining strict Menzies Corporate Governance and Financial guidelines.
Services offered at the station may include Cabin Services, Passenger Services, Cargo, Fueling, Ramp Handling, and GSE Maintenance.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the safety and well-being of MA staff; promote a Safety-First culture; and manage all station operations.
- Implement and adhere to MA Safety, Security, Quality, and Training policies and SOPs, complying with all relevant industry, local, state, and Federal regulations.
- Lead and collaborate with the senior team to maintain effective safety and security systems, risk assessments, inspections, audits, training programs, and operational processes.
- Lead by example, providing immediate and direct feedback to Employees and colleagues.
- Ensure effective delivery of safety briefings and dissemination of safety bulletins and alerts.
- Participate in developing station-level budgets.
- Ensure proper staffing, planning, and scheduling processes are in place.
- Manage inventory, assets, and vendor payments accurately.
- Be fully accountable for the station's financial performance and compliance with corporate governance and legal standards.
- Engage with customers to promote the station and measure customer satisfaction, using feedback for continuous improvement.
- Identify and pursue opportunities for new business and growth of existing services.
- Develop and implement emergency and contingency plans, including ERP, EAP, LCP, BCP, SPCC, FRP, EERP, and SWPPP.
- Delegate responsibilities for safety, security, and quality assurance, ensuring compliance with relevant manuals and systems.
- Oversee investigations of accidents, injuries, and near misses, ensuring corrective actions are implemented.
- Manage Workers’ Compensation Program and promote Return-to-Work initiatives.
- Lead and motivate teams to achieve high safety and operational standards.
- Review safety and operational performance metrics regularly and conduct routine staff meetings and performance appraisals.
- Establish Reward and Recognition programs for safe behaviors and performance.
- Ensure compliance with all work rules and policies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience (5-10 years in related roles).
- Strong leadership, management, and communication skills.
- Experience in business development, sales, and negotiation.
- Experience in ground handling or fueling environments is preferred.
- Legal authorization to work in the USA, at least 18 years old, pass pre-employment screening, and possess a valid US driver’s license.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English proficiently.
- Physical ability to lift up to 70 lbs, work variable shifts, and operate in challenging environments.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and ability to learn quickly.
- Strong interpersonal and team-building skills.
