Job Summary
A Project Superintendent oversees individual projects ensuring safe construction of high-quality work in accordance with contract scope. This role supervises project personnel, maintains communication with customers, and ensures project compliance and safety.

Typical Duties
- Participate in pre-work meetings with subcontractors to review project policies and standards.
- Participate in pre-work meetings with foremen and subcontractors to discuss schedules, methods, and standards.
- Evaluate shop drawings with Project Manager.
- Develop and implement work schedules for personnel, equipment, and materials.
- Participate in preconstruction sessions to develop project strategies.
- Promote safety, ensure safety compliance, and proactively address hazards.
- Report incidents, maintain safety equipment, and ensure safety protocols are followed.
- Monitor construction activities for adherence to project documents and quality standards.
- Maintain quality control and update as-built drawings.
- Keep detailed daily logs with photos and documentation.
- Address installation issues proactively.
- Manage scheduled activities and create look-ahead schedules.
- Review schedule milestones and measure progress.
- Ensure timely dispatch and keep the company informed of project status.
- Engage in short interval planning with foremen.
- Maintain project performance against budget and schedule.
- Manage equipment use and maintenance.
- Document and manage extra work and prevent rework.
- Address problems proactively and communicate regularly with clients and subcontractors.
- Develop techniques for better resource utilization.
- Take responsibility for results and implement improvements.
- Build and maintain good client relationships.
- Mentor team members, recognize contributions, and promote a positive work environment.
- Maintain current certifications such as CPR / First Aid, OSHA 30, and others relevant to the work.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED preferred, with 10+ years of field experience and 5+ years of management experience. Must be able to read and write English, perform basic math and geometry, and use computer programs. A CA driver's license with a clean record is required.
Compensation
58 - $75 per hour, depending on skills and experience.
