Brokerage products are the bread and butter of Robinhood. The brokerage team is a fast-paced, dynamic, and innovative team. As a member of this cross-functional group, you will collaborate closely with partners in product, operations, engineering, to unlock the potential of our data and shape the future of the brokerage products.

We're looking for a dedicated, ambitious Senior Data Scientist to join our Brokerage Data Science team, focusing on risk modeling for leveraged trading product offerings. In this role, you will be building statistical and ML models, and ingrate the data driven solutions to drive growth of our brokerage businesses.

This role is based in our (Menlo Park / New York) offices, with in-person attendance expected at least (3) days per week.

What You'll Do

Perform exploratory analysis to understand customers and their portfolios with leveraged trading products, including margin, options, futures, etc
Design data and modeling solutions to estimate value of leveraged assets under different market environments using advanced statistical and machine learning models
Partner closely with Product, Operations, Engineering to build and integrate model driven decision flow into business and product processes
Assess model performance and associated business value by A / B experiment analysis and causal inference
Communicate effectively the solution designs and data insights to cross functional partners and collaborators

What You Bring

PhD in a quantitative field such as Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Economics or Engineering with 3+ years of industry experience building customer facing modeling solutions, or a Master's degree with 5+ years of relevant experience

Strong statistics and machine learning modeling skill

Deep knowledge of how trading assets pricing works

Passion to apply modeling and engineering skills to solve complex business problems

Strong data wrangling skills to produce analytics insights by exploring large scale data sets using SQL and Spark

Solid communication skills and ability to present sophisticated modeling insights clearly to non-technical audience

In addition to the base pay range listed below, this role is also eligible for bonus opportunities + equity + benefits.

Base pay for the successful applicant will depend on a variety of job-related factors, which may include education, training, experience, location, business needs, or market demands. The expected base pay range for this role is based on the location where the work will be performed and is aligned to one of 3 compensation zones. For other locations not listed, compensation can be discussed with your recruiter during the interview process.

187,000—$220,000 USD

Zone 2 (Denver, CO; Westlake, TX; Chicago, IL)

165,000—$194,000 USD

Zone 3 (Lake Mary, FL; Clearwater, FL; Gainesville, FL)

146,000—$172,000 USD
