We are looking for a Job Captain to work closely with project teams on all aspects of design, development, documentation, construction, and project administration.

SCOPE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Position Overview:

The Job Captain is responsible for producing design, permitting, and construction document packages, coordinating details with the project team under the direction of the project architect.

Additional duties include:

1. Collaborating with team members throughout all design phases.
2. Reporting progress and issues to project leads.
3. Assisting with construction administration tasks such as RFIs, reviewing submittals, and resolving construction issues.
4. Ensuring project schedules are met and schematic designs conform to project requirements.
5. Developing presentation materials for design and marketing.
6. Supporting various tasks for project completion.
7. Potentially managing a junior staff member.

EXPERIENCE / SKILLS REQUIRED

We value experience but are open to candidates with varying backgrounds. Ideally, candidates will have:

• Five to seven years of professional post-graduate experience, on the licensure track; licensure is a plus.
• Strong design skills and leadership in production teams.
• Excellent CAD / BIM skills; proficiency in SketchUp, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign; ArchiCAD experience preferred; Revit experience a plus.
• Multi-family housing experience is advantageous.
• Supervisory or mentoring skills are a plus.
• Strong communication skills, with ability to interact with team members, clients, consultants, and contractors.
• Ambitious, organized, deadline-oriented, and self-motivated.

EDUCATION / CREDENTIALS

Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture or related field. California Architectural license preferred or in progress.
