A rapidly expanding CPA firm in Brooklyn, New York seeks someone who is highly organized, efficient, confidential, reliable, self-motivated, high attention to detail, and can hit the ground running.

Responsibilities include:

Reviewing individual and corporate returns (1065, 1120-S, 1120C) including multi-state returns (NY, NJ, CA, PA are the primary states)

Preparation of tax projections and estimates.

Assist clients with tax notices that will require a written response and/or phone call with the tax agency on behalf of the client.

Manage members of the tax team as they prepare components of the company's US federal income tax return and other tax documents

Develop and implement strategic tax planning for all necessary federal and state taxes

Perform tax research, staying up to date on changes

Find and implement opportunities for process improvement in company tax procedures

Preferred Qualifications and skills

We are looking for a candidate with 5+ years of experience in a tax manager or public accountant role and at least 2 years of experience in a management role. Preferred candidates have a current CPA license and a master’s degree in an accounting discipline. The Tax Manager must be proficient with the following software/tools:

Strong skills and experience with Word, Outlook, Excel, QuickBooks.

Positive, proactive, and driven to succeed

Excellent written and verbal skills

Ability to handle high confidentiality

Ability to work in a team environment, alone, and meet timelines

Position requires a high degree of accuracy, attention to detail and professionalism

Familiarity with CCH pFX, CCH engagement, Bloomberg BNA
