About the role:

As a leader of the Sales Development team, you will oversee a team of inbound and outbound Sales Development Representatives (SDRs). Your mission is to drive the growth of our sales pipeline across the AMER region. This role requires a dynamic leader who is comfortable building and executing strategies. You are passionate about career development and scalable success. Additionally, you are hands-on and excited about fostering an in-office culture, and your best work is done cross-functionally.

Responsibilities:

  1. Lead and develop a high-performing team of SDRs.
  2. Hire top talent in the industry. Shape development programs for career progression to maintain talent engagement and excellence at Kong.
  3. Maintain operational rigor across all business elements. Drive a predictable and scalable business.
  4. Foster a positive and collaborative culture that inspires teamwork and professional growth.
  5. Balance in a hybrid in-office environment effectively.
  6. Create reporting and feedback loops with stakeholders on team performance, KPIs, customer insights, roadblocks, and pipeline forecasts.
  7. Collaborate with leaders across Sales, Revenue Operations, Marketing, Customer Success, and Partnerships to design and execute go-to-market plans for pipeline generation.
  8. Excel in change management to meet critical and aggressive revenue milestones.
  9. Maintain a strong pulse on the market and facilitate feedback between Sales and other departments.
  10. Identify opportunities for innovation and act as a catalyst for positive change.

Qualifications:

  1. 5+ years of experience in B2B SaaS.
  2. 2+ years of experience building and managing high-performing Sales or Sales Development organizations in B2B SaaS.
  3. Exceptional communication skills with the ability to give and receive feedback thoughtfully.
  4. Experience in high-growth, fast-paced startup environments, preferably with hybrid remote and in-office teams.
  5. Proven experience in building and leading high-performance sales teams, selling complex technical products.
  6. Subject matter expertise in pipeline development and revenue-driving efforts.

Kong offers competitive pay ranges based on location, skill, and experience. The typical base pay range in the US is $170-230k OTE, with potential additional rewards such as sales incentives. Benefits vary by location and may include healthcare, 401(k), disability benefits, life and AD&D insurance, among others.
