Position Overview

We are seeking a high-performing, purpose-driven Director, Net Zero Consortium for Buyers (NZCB) to help lead and scale the success of NZCB. This leader will play a critical role in advising world-leading companies as they pursue aggregated and individual transactions to decarbonize their global operations. The Director will support the continued growth and successful closings of NZCB transactions and help shape the future of corporate clean energy strategy and collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Consortium Management

  • Help lead the strategic direction and operational delivery of the Net Zero Consortium for Buyers.
  • Help organize and represent Member-Client demand for “our next GW” campaign of over 1 GW of clean energy procurement across North America and Europe.
  • Ensure the timely, successful closing of high-impact, utility-scale clean energy transactions.
  • Develop and execute Member-Client engagement strategies that support procurement success and multi-year collaboration.

Renewable Energy Advisor to Member-Clients

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to global Directors of Sustainability and Energy Procurement.
  • Guide clients in leveraging Environmental Attribute Certificates to support decarbonization and grid-scale renewable energy development.
  • Represent NZCB members in collaborative efforts that accelerate clean energy markets.
  • Help lead monthly national meetings with Member-Client executives leading on renewable energy globally.

Transaction Leadership & Technical Development

  • Provide subject matter expertise on VPPA, PPA, and clean energy transaction structures.
  • Maintain strong relationships with clean energy developers, brokers, and legal partners.
  • Contribute to Request for Proposal development and management.
  • Contribute to NZCB’s five level risk ranking development on market evaluation, developer ranking, project ranking, legal ranking, and multi-scenario financial modeling.
  • Engage with NZCB’s partners and tools such as LevelTen, ReSurtey, Perplexity and more.
  • Monitor and interpret market trends across North America, Europe, and Asia.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of NZCB methodology, deliverables, and success metrics.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of two years representing corporate buyers in procurement through VPPAs.
  • Minimum of four years of experience in clean energy markets and services.
  • Deep understanding of clean energy transaction structures (e.g., VPPAs, PPAs, EACs).
  • Strong quantitative analysis capabilities; able to assess project economics and risk.
  • Outstanding writing and communication skills; proven ability to influence executive stakeholders.
  • Track record of high client satisfaction and strong professional references.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; relevant advanced degree a plus.
  • Passion for sustainability, equity, and helping global companies lead in decarbonization.

Compensation & Benefits

Compensation at plan exceeds $200,000 in the first year. SR Inc offers a competitive benefits package including health and dental insurance, a 401(k) plan with employer match, paid parental leave, and commuter benefits. Employees also receive three weeks of paid vacation, all national holidays, and two week-long company closures during the winter holiday season and the week of July 4th.
