Overview
The Director of Sales is responsible for leading revenue strategies across segments including group, transient, and catering. They monitor market trends, competitive analysis, and direct sales teams to meet or exceed revenue goals. The role also involves managing sales and marketing budgets to support revenue targets.
Responsibilities
- Lead and drive top-line revenue for various sales segments.
- Analyze market trends, share, and competitive environment.
- Act as the voice of the customer, communicating issues across the organization.
- Utilize data from Smith Travel Research, financial reports, and other hotel reporting tools.
- Understand and communicate market demand, supply, and economic factors.
- Conduct competitive reviews and SWOT analyses.
- Develop strategies for primary markets and manage key accounts.
- Design sales deployment schemes and market assignments.
- Set sales goals aligned with budgets and market share targets.
- Manage group pace and sales activity schedules.
Qualifications
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred in Marketing.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in hotel sales leadership.
General Requirements:
- Experience with ownership groups and asset management communication.
- Proficiency in Marriott Sales Systems and PMS systems.
- Experience collaborating with revenue management.
- Knowledge of market segments and strategic planning.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Leadership ability to motivate and develop sales teams.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
