Job Description General Responsibilities: Supervise or monitor all projects in progress in the department to ensure that work is executed on time, in accordance with the client's requirements, and within company policies, procedures, and standards. Supervise the preparation of proposals and cost estimates to clients to ensure proper scoping of services, availability of manpower, and pricing to achieve desired profitability. Oversee daily operations of the department, including staff training, development, performance review, equipment and facilities utilization, safety oversight, quality of services and work product, timely delivery of services and deliverables, and adherence to policies and procedures. Plan for and participate in business development activities to identify, develop, win, and execute project opportunities, and build and maintain client relationships. Essential Roles and Responsibilities: Responsible for preparing proposals and cost estimates. Support business and client development activities with the Office Manager. Develop and manage employee staffing plans, recruitment, selection, and onboarding, with support from the Office Manager. Prepare and execute the annual business plan for the department, with support from the Office Manager. Oversee and manage key department metrics such as revenue growth, staff chargeability, project billing and collections, and project profitability, with support from the Office Manager. Understand and be aware of project-related risks, including what could go wrong and how to protect the company, in accordance with company risk policies. Lead safety efforts for the team, ensure safety rules and guidelines are followed, create and model a safe work environment, and promote pre-task planning for all projects. Monitor and promote quality standards and practices on projects, ensuring continuous quality improvement. Maintain consistent quality standards in project and proposal delivery. Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline practiced by the firm, such as Engineering, Environmental Science, or Geology, with 5 years of practice experience, or a minimum of 9 years of related experience in lieu of a degree. Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.). Master's degree or PhD is preferred. Valid driver's license with an acceptable violation history. Preferred Certification: Certification or licensure in the field of expertise. Terracon Authorized Project Reviewer status is preferred.
