The Packing Clerk is responsible for accurately preparing, packaging, labeling, and staging outbound materials in a composite manufacturing environment. This role supports shipping operations by ensuring products are packed according to specifications, documented correctly, and prepared for timely dispatch. The position is an entry point into shipping operations with development opportunities. The associate will build the following foundational skills: shipment coordination, documentation, carrier management, receiving operations, inventory management, and cross-departmental logistics.
Requirements
Duties & Responsibilities

  • Prepare and package materials, parts, and products per customer specifications and company procedures.
  • Inspect items for quality, quantity, and condition prior to packing.
  • Label and document packages accurately using the warehouse management system.
  • Stage packed orders for shipment and coordinate with Shipping Clerks for carrier pickups.
  • Maintain organized and clean packing areas; remove waste materials promptly.
  • Greet and assist delivery drivers as needed.
  • Assist with inventory cycle counts and stock rotation.
  • Communicate effectively with internal departments regarding order status and packing requirements.
  • Follow all safety protocols, including proper lifting techniques and use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Support other warehouse tasks such as receiving, picking, and storing inventory when required.
  • Keep the packing work area safe, clean, and free from hazards; promptly report safety concerns.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Education & Training
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED or HSE).
  • Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and warehouse management systems.
  • Forklift certification preferred but not required.
Knowledge & Experience
  • Previous experience in packing, shipping, or warehouse operations preferred.
  • Familiarity with shipping and inventory control processes is a plus.
  • Understanding of safety regulations in a manufacturing environment.
Skills & Abilities
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Effective organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 50 lbs.) and stand for extended periods.
  • Frequently required to reach and use hands and arms continuously.
  • Clear communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Problem-solving skills and sound judgment.
  • High level of integrity and confidentiality.

Hours / Shifts : This is a 1st Shift position.
Monday - Friday; hours may vary depending on shift and workload.
