We are looking for an Insurance Specialist to join our team at Texas Oncology . This full-time hybrid remote position supports our Central Business Office in Richardson, TX. The role involves managing payer and patient account balances, performing collections, resolving billing issues, and supporting compliance with healthcare regulations.
Responsibilities include:
- Monitoring delinquent accounts and performing collections with payers.
- Identifying trends and reporting to leadership.
- Collaborating on payor calls for resolution.
- Preparing appeals and resolving denials.
- Reviewing reports, payment postings, and correcting errors.
- Contacting patients for past due balances and updating records.
- Maintaining confidentiality and adhering to legal standards.
Qualifications:
Level 1 requires a high school diploma, 2+ years of medical billing/payment experience, and knowledge of claims processing and collections guidelines. CPC certification is preferred.
Level 2 requires 4+ years of experience and knowledge of medical coding, preferably oncology coding.
Level Sr requires an associate degree or 4+ years of revenue cycle experience, along with proficiency in computer systems and oncology coding.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Standard office environment, with occasional lifting up to 30 pounds, and exposure to clinical conditions.
