CNC Machine Set-up Operator

Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented CNC Machine Set-up Operator to join our precision manufacturing team. This role is responsible for setting up and operating CNC mills and lathes to produce high-quality components for our product lines. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding in machining processes, tooling, and quality control, with a commitment to safety and continuous improvement.
Pay and Shift
1st shift: 6am-4pm Mon-Thursday
2nd shift: 3:30pm-2am Mon- Thursday
Pay: $25-30+ depending on experience
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC machining centers (mills and lathes) to meet production specifications.
- Interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work instructions to determine machining requirements.
- Select and install appropriate tooling, fixtures, and materials for each job.
- Adjust machine settings and offsets to maintain tight tolerances and ensure part quality.
- Conduct first-article and in-process inspections using precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges).
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of experience in CNC machining, including set-up and operation.
- Proficiency with Fanuc controls and multi-axis CNC equipment preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Familiarity with Lean manufacturing principles is a plus.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and math skills (metric and imperial systems).
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate's degree or certification in Machine Tool Technology preferred.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $32000.00 - $32000.00/yr.
Schedule is 4, 10-hour days, Mon-Thurs. Based upon previous experience, pay ranges from $16-$20 per hour. Effective Health Insurance. Life Insurance - Company provided $10K, with option to purchase additional amounts. Tuition Reimbursement. Paid Vacations and Holidays. In-house Cafeteria with reasonable prices.
