What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Verify the accuracy and completeness of financial, insurance, and demographic information for patients
- Handle pre-admissions, admissions, and scheduled outpatient services to ensure account security prior to discharge
- Investigate and review insurance information to confirm eligibility and benefits
- Resolve issues related to primary insurance and coordination of benefits (COB) information
- Ensure compliance with all insurance requirements, including referrals and authorizations
What is Required (Qualifications):
- High school diploma or GED equivalent is required
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in healthcare insurance eligibility, verification, or billing in a hospital/medical office setting
- Experience with insurance payor systems is required
- Strong computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office products
- Ability to adapt to new technologies as introduced
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience with EPIC training or ICD-10 medical terminology is preferred
- Knowledge of various insurance coverage and COB rules of priority and processing procedures
