The Division of Pediatric Cardiology at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center ( LSUHSC ) and the Heart Center of the Manning Family Childrens Hospital of New Orleans is seeking an academic Pediatric Cardiologist to serve as Division Chief of Pediatric Cardiology and Director of Cardiology at Manning Family Childrens. We are seeking candidates with experience in developing academic clinical programs.

Appointment will be at the academic rank of Associate Professor or Professor; rank and track will be determined by the candidates credentials and academic achievements. The successful candidate will be active clinically in their area of expertise and supervise the collaborative academic service needs of the Department of Pediatrics and Manning Family Childrens. The incumbent will work in conjunction with the Cardiothoracic Surgery team and other specialists to develop a multidisciplinary and interprofessional approach to the care of pediatric cardiology patients. There is an ACGME -accredited Pediatric Cardiology fellowship training program. There are excellent opportunities for clinical, translational, and basic research, particularly with the LSUHSC Cardiovascular Center of Excellence.

The Heart Center Faculty includes a team of 25 physicians including seven cardiac intensivists, two cardiac surgeons, and 4 cardiac anesthesiologists. Subspecialty care in the Heart Center includes non-invasive imaging, interventional cardiology, electrophysiology, expertise in Fontan management, home-monitoring, neurodevelopment, pulmonary hypertension, pediatric coronary artery disease, and heart failure. Currently, approximately 300 heart catheterizations (75% interventional) and 300 cardiothoracic surgeries, and 11,000 ambulatory visits are performed each year at Manning Family Childrens.

Manning Family Childrens is a 263-bed, not-for-profit pediatric medical center offering a comprehensive range of services for children from birth to 21 years, with more than 600 pediatric providers solely dedicated to the care of kids.
