Integrated Talent Strategies (ITS) has a rapidly growing manufacturing client in the Findlay area that is looking for a Mold and Die Maintenance Technician. Salary range is $28-$39hr depending on experience.
Position Summary:
The Die/Mold Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing preventative, routine, and emergency maintenance on injection molding dies and molds to ensure optimal performance, minimal downtime, and consistent product quality. This role plays a critical part in maintaining tooling integrity and supporting production demands in a high-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance and cleaning of injection molds and tooling.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and refurbish molds as needed, including polishing, spotting, fitting, welding, and grinding.
  • Dismantle molds for cleaning, inspection, and repair; reassemble and test molds prior to returning to production.
  • Maintain documentation for all maintenance activities including mold history, repairs, and modifications.
  • Work closely with production and quality teams to identify and resolve tooling-related issues.
  • Support mold trials, tool validation, and engineering changes.
  • Ensure molds meet dimensional, cosmetic, and functional requirements.
  • Maintain and organize the tooling area, equipment, and spare parts inventory.
  • Operate overhead cranes, forklifts, and other equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Follow all plant safety protocols and procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO).
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to tooling performance and maintenance practices.
Qualifications:
Required:
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in mold/die maintenance in an injection molding environment.
  • Strong knowledge of injection mold components and repair techniques.
  • Skilled in the use of tool room equipment (lathes, mills, grinders, etc.).
  • Ability to read and interpret mold drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
  • Good mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Basic understanding of hydraulic, pneumatic, and cooling systems.
Preferred:
  • Technical certificate or associate degree in Tool & Die, Mold Making, or related field.
  • Experience with hot runner systems, automated tooling, and complex multi-cavity molds.
  • MIG/TIG welding experience for mold repair.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Prolonged standing, bending, and kneeling.
  • Manual dexterity and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, heat, and chemicals.
