Driver- CDL (B) Job Summary
A Driver-CDL (B) is responsible for safely operating a collection truck and providing prompt, courteous, and complete waste removal services for customers. The driver is responsible for ensuring the vehicle is in compliance with the company's safety standards, adhering to all company, state, and federal regulations, and completing vehicle condition reports on a daily basis.
Principal Responsibilities:
- Perform complete pre- and post-operation inspection of the vehicle in accordance with company policy.
- Safely operate the heavy truck along the designated route and to the disposal site.
- Operate manual and/or automatic controls to lift and load refuse, operate compactor and dispose of collected material.
- Courteously interact with all customers and staff to ensure timely and professional service.
- Identify unsatisfactory waste containers and tag them in accordance with departmental procedures.
- Monitor waste for evidence of unacceptable waste and clean areas around accidental waste spills.
- Continuously monitor the condition of the vehicle to ensure it is operationally ready.
- Complete required route/productivity sheets, vehicle condition reports, and other reports.
- Maintain adherence to required productivity standards.
- Follow all required safety policies and procedures.
- Actively participate in the company's ReSOP program.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
- Demonstrate good customer service skills, time management, follow-through ability, and adherence to company policies.
Minimum Requirements:
- Class B or higher commercial driver's license with air brakes endorsement.
