The Heat Exchanger/Pressure Vessels Mechanical Design Engineer will perform engineering calculations and develop manufacturing requirements. This candidate will be engaged in the design, fabrication and manufacturing of ASME Pressure Vessels. The successful engineer will possess solid background with pressure vessels, heat exchanger, pumps/valves/fittings and have proven proficiency with 3D modeling, including SolidWorks and AutoCAD. In this role, you will play a critical role in a taking a design from inception to deployment and will be responsible for much of the execution.

Responsible for:

  • The primary tasks of the Mechanical Design Engineer will be to use AutoCAD and Vessel Code to design heat transfer equipment to the highest quality standards.
  • n
  • Develop detailed pressure vessels calculations per design and ASME code standards and good engineering practices.
  • n
  • Execute the design, analysis, drafting, drawing release, and bill of materials generation of designed parts for heat exchangers & pressure vessels while ensuring adherence to fabrication techniques; minimization of costs, budget constraints; maximum quality; and deliver schedule.

  • Works with customers from the conceptual stages to completion of product to achieve optimum design, in consideration of product service, design calculations, drawing, cost adders, and scheduling.

  • Provide support for project quoting efforts which includes shop labor hours, materials, tooling requirements and coordinating quotes from outside suppliers.
  • n
  • Review customer specifications and requirements for quoting efforts.
  • n
  • Interface with customer for any clarification of project requirements.
  • n
  • Generating project mechanical documentation including ASME Code forms, test reports, inspection reports, as-build drawings, code calculations and certificates.
  • n
  • Product technical support for compressor components orders in Machine Shop/Assembly.
  • n
  • Work with manufacturing for support and checking off on designs for production.
  • n

Required Qualifications

    n
  • 5 years Work experience in Heat Exchangers/Pressure Vessels in a manufacturing environment.
  • n
  • 5 years' experience in designing and developing pressure vessels with knowledge of ASME pressure vessel codes, strength calculations, welding processes.
  • n
  • Working knowledge of ASME Pressure Vessel Codes and industry standards common to Heat Exchangers.
  • n
  • Experience in Solidworks and AutoCAD.
  • n
  • Self-starter with minimal supervision.
  • n
  • Knowledge of drafting, drawing & document control standards.
  • n
  • Be mechanically inclined and have a strong mechanical aptitude.
  • n
  • Ability to meet pre-defined deadlines.
  • n
  • Excellent mechanical aptitude, math skills, and organizational ability.
  • n
  • Good written & verbal communication skills, especially in technical matters.
