RETTEW seeks a motivated and experienced Engineer 2 to assist our Transportation Team. The ideal candidate will have 4-7 years of experience and hold a Professional Engineer (PE) license. This role requires a strong background in open roads and PennDOT design. Experience with the Pennsylvania Turnpike and West Virginia projects is a significant plus.
nnResponsibilities:
nnTechnical Responsibilities
n- Perform moderate design tasks including computations and analysis.
n- Develop and/or assists with tasks such as field activities including construction activities, material testing, CADD work, permit applications, and report writing.
n- Consult project team about regulations impacting projects; performs regulation research as needed.
n- Assist in the design and development of transportation projects, including highways, roads, and bridges.
n- Prepare and review engineering plans, specifications, and reports.
n- Ensure compliance with PennDOT standards and regulations.
n- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality projects on time and within budget.
n- Conduct site visits and inspections as needed.
n- Provide technical support and guidance to junior engineers and other team members.
nnProgram, Project, and Task Management
n- Work as part of a team and coordinate work with others.
n- Assist in determining schedule and budget requirements.
n- Responsible for personal task management and adherence to deadlines and scope.
n- Use standard programs to complete project and administrative deliverables.
n- Possesses effective oral and written communication skills.
n- Demonstrates assertiveness and cooperation in managing conflicts.
n- Interacts with internal and external project team members.
n- Assists with official communication pertaining to specific assignments/meetings.
nRequirements
n- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
n- Minimum four years of relevant experience in transportation engineering.
n- Professional Engineer (PE) license.
n- Proficiency in open roads and PennDOT design.
n- Experience with Pennsylvania Turnpike and West Virginia projects is highly desirable.
n- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
n- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
n- Proficiency in engineering software and tools.
nnSkills
n- Familiarity with AASHTO standards and guidelines.
n- Experience with project management and coordination.
n- Knowledge of environmental and sustainability practices in transportation engineering.
